A few weeks ago some lovely ladies from ET Couture Fashion Club helped me out with a little summer lookbook for the shop and I couldn't be more pleased with the result! These pictures are just beautiful!

first of all you need some shorts. I made these cut-offs from an old pair of jeans.

next you need to find/buy some paint and paint brushes. this is all I found in my house . tip: don't use the spray. it gets messy and difficult. stick to regular paint if you can.

paint the left side blue and the right side white

draw an outline for your stars on the blue half of the shorts and begin painting them white

as you can see I'm not the best at stars, but they work just fine

draw evenly spaced out lines on the white half and paint every other section red

I then threw them in the wash and they came out with this great distressed look

Tonight I got to see some of my best friends walk across that stage in cap and gown to receive their diploma and graduate. It is crazy to think about how weird it is going to seem to walk back into class in September and they won't be there. Wether they are someone that I have known my entire life, just the past three years, or that I met this year, each and everyone of my senior friends have changed my life for good. It amazing me how close I have gotten with these wonderful people and I feel absolutely honored to be able to call them my friends. Thanks to some of these seniors, I was able to do things this year that I could have only dreamed of when I began high school. I learned how to work up the courage to get up on stage to preform in both singing and acting. I was given the chance to act in a friends short film. And I was shown what it looks like to truly be a light shining for Jesus. But there is one person in particular that I am especially grateful to be able to call my best friend.

When I came into high school my freshman year I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I was taking the bare minimum classes and the required elective I chose to do was drama because my friend wanted me to do it with her. She wanted to join the more advanced class, but didn't want to do it alone, and being the nice friend I am, I tried out with her knowing I would most likely only do a year of the class and then drop out. Little did I know that the drama department would become my home thanks to one person. The friend that I joined with quickly found new people to hang out with in class so I was alone for a while until one sophomore in the class took me under her wing. This girl was so kind to me and made me feel like I belonged. Her love for the class rubbed off on me so I decided to stick with it and go through another year and I believe that was the best decision I have ever made during my high school career. Every second I have spent with this girl I will cherish forever. I don't think she knows just how much she means to me. Me and her have gone through so much together just over the past three years and I honestly don't know what I would do without her. She taught me how to get up in front of an audience and act without fear. She taught me that it is okay to be myself and say what I want without fear of judgement of others. Before I met her I was so quiet, I just listened to the people around me, never really speaking, and just stood there. Being around someone as sociable as her helped me learn how to participate in a conversation without worrying about people talking over me. She set an example of a strong woman walking with christ. She has been there to make me laugh when it feels impossible to be happy. She's been there when I feel like my whole world is falling apart and all I want to do it curl up in a ball and cry. I don't know what I'm going to do without her now that she is leaving. Drama just won't be the same. But I know that the friendship we have formed is lasting and we will stay friends for years to come. I thank God everyday for bringing her into my life. I know that you are going to do great things in the future and I am so excited to see what God has in store for you.

Just as I am writing all of this, reality is setting in that you are now a college student. Im sure if you read this you will know exactly who you are. Words cannot truly express how lucky I feel to have known you and just how much you have changed my life. I couldn't ask for a better friend. I love you so much.

I am so extremely proud of you. And with that I have successfully gone through a full tissue box of tears so I can't write anymore.

Last week I helped costume the show "Alice in Wonderland" at my local Jr. High School. My favorite characters to costume were the flowers. I made them all some cute flower crowns with the type of flower that they were playing. These crowns were a lot simpler to make then I thought they would be. I just bought plastic head bands and fake flowers at the ¢99 store, hot glued them on and Voila! Here are some of the flowers I made for the girls.

Don't you hate it when you buy a cheap pair of tights and after wearing them once, maybe twice if you're lucky, and then suddenly, out of nowhere, a nice hole appears thus making the tights "ruined." But guess what? They aren't ruined. You can now make these once boring tights into the latest fashion trend and it is super easy. All you need is a pair of scissors and you will have fun, fashion forward tights in about ten minutes.

Ed Sheeran - Little Bird

So lately my obsession with Ed Sheeran has rekindled and I have been listening to his angelic voice nonstop. Now who is Ed you may ask? He is a twenty-two year old british ginger that was on the british x-factor and has now began to find his fame here in the US. A few weeks ago, a couple of my friends and I went to see "Ginger Jesus" at the Palladium in Hollywood and it was by far one of the best concerts I have been to. There are two things that Ed does at his concerts that I have not seen any other artist do before. First of all, a majority of his songs are slow so he has the audience become dead silent when he sings some of these songs and even stops singing with the mic for a little while. Believe it or not, the audience actually shuts up for him and you can hear him in the back with no mic on. I found this quite amazing. Another thing that Ed does is make one song last over fifteen minutes. He sings the actual four minute song along with some audience participation, additional popular songs, and lots of repetition to make the energy last longer. It is an exciting new way to keep the audience pumped up at a concert when he has only a few high energy songs. If you have not listened to Ed Sheeran yet please look him up, you will fall in love with that voice.

Now I must begin a new challenge for 2013. This year is the year that I will finally put myself out there. I'm going to step out of my comfort zone and let more people into my life without the fear of their judgement. How am I going to do that? Simple. First of all I am going to put up a new post on this blog at least once a month, hopefully more often than that. Second I am going to attempt to get involved in activities that will give me more experience for my future such as internships and acting jobs. And Thirdly, I will stop second guessing myself and actually participate in conversations with other people and allow new people into my life without the thinking that they won't accept me. I know this year will be wonderful only if I go in with a positive attitude, so here we go. 2013, a year without fear.
